Research and early field development

Precision robotics for crop-specific problems.

Spica focuses on specific agricultural problems where a robotic intervention can provide meaningful advantages, rather than claiming coverage across every crop and every task.

02How we select problems

A problem qualifies before a robot is built.

Spica evaluates candidate applications against a small set of engineering and agronomic criteria before committing development effort.

01

Impact

The problem has meaningful agronomic or economic consequence.

02

Precision advantage

A targeted intervention is genuinely better than a broad one.

03

Engineering feasibility

Mobility, sensing and intervention can be built to the required accuracy.

04

Platform fit

The solution can be delivered as a module on the shared robotic base.

03Future solutions

Additional crop applications will be published as they are validated.

Spica's solution structure is designed to expand: as new intervention modules are engineered and tested, each crop-specific application will be documented here with its problem, technology, platform configuration and development status. We do not list crops we have not worked on.

If you work with a specific crop and a specific problem you believe robotics could address, we would like to hear about it.
